Tonight the Book Club for Poets will discuss the poetry of Philip Larkin, 7 p.m. at the New England Room of the Danforth Library, New England College, Henniker, New Hampshire. The discussion is free and open to writers who wish to learn more about their craft by discussing the techniques of master poets. See the previous post for recommended poems.
I’m especially fascinated with Larkin’s handling of time in his poems—and his ability to write beautifully crafted metrical poems while retaining such conversational, contemporary diction.
Hope to see you there!
